Our team comprises Michael Sickler, human allograft-based tissue expert, Nienke de Roode, leading orthobiologic calcium phosphates expert, and Nol van de Mortel, seasoned business developer. Medical director, Michael Bauer, serves as our consultant.

Nol van de Mortel
Nol van de Mortel brings a strong organizational background to Access2Bone. He gained this experience in the military and different managerial roles working at advertising agencies for two decades. He then served for 11 years at Cam Bioceramics, both as COO and as CEO. In these functions, Nol reorganized and rebuilt the facility. He built strong relations with clients and the scientific community to strengthen the company’s position as a leading orthobiologics company. At Access2Bone, Nol’s drive is to build whatever it takes to realize the vision of creating the most effective bone void fillers that are safe by design.

Michael F Sickler
Prior to co-founding Access2Bone, and for nearly two decades, Michael held various leadership roles in R&D, Engineering, and Operations at GenSci OrthoBiologics, IsoTis, and Integra Lifesciences where he helped develop and launch their orthobiologics portfolio. These products are now well-recognized and accepted in the orthopedic community. With the ever-increasing demand for orthobiologic support in regenerative medicine, Michael continues to focus on developing safe, effective, and sustainable products at Access2Bone, products that will allow physicians alternative options to supporting their patients in need.

Nienke de Roode
Nienke de Roode is Material Science Engineer with 13 years of experience in the process and product development of synthetic bone void fillers. Nienke worked at Cam Bioceramics as manager of the Engineering and R&D Team. In this role, Nienke worked with world-leading orthopedic companies to invent and realize calcium phosphate solutions to strengthen their product portfolios. At Access2Bone, Nienke strengthens the company’s portfolio of effective and safe products, by combining tissue and carrier technologies.

Michael Bauer
Michael Bauer is MD Corporate Medical and Laboratory Director. Board-certified in clinical pathology and transfusion medicine, Michael is recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in tissue, eye, and blood banking for donor eligibility. Michael Bauer is the former Medical Director and CLIA Laboratory Director at Bonfils Blood Center, where he oversaw the serology and reference laboratories. He also served as blood bank physician in Michigan, New Jersey, and Colorado. Moreover, he received his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where he completed a residency in pathology.
